Cambodia Trip
oops.. hehehe.. according to my friends, i seems to b going on impromptu trip.. just like this time rnd, most of my friends realised that im going overseas only when i sms them that i'll b away just before my trip.. lol.. not exactly my fault.. i'd been "announcing" it "everywhere" (facebook, msn, blog) since confirmation of the dates.. anyway.. just a "short summary" of my trip in this post..
1st day:
was a afternoon flight to Siem Reap so by the time we reached there it was already in the evening abt 6pm.. there wasnt any itinery for the day so our tour guide will only meet us tmr.. however we paid the driver and the co's guy that came to fetch us from the airport to bring us arnd for dinner and some local place.. 1st stop was of cuz our hotel.. days just before our arrival, typhoon passed by hence the city was flooded.. so is our hotel.. we had to enter from the main road by walking on planks.. after arriving at hotel and putting down our stuffs, they brought us to some souvenier shop where of cuz we din buy anything.. initially saw some stuffs but was so darn expensive.. diaozz.. after which we went for dinner at the buffet place.. well.. the food wasnt nice..variety also very little.. nvm.. fill stomach can liao.. after dinner ~ shopping at the night bazaar~!! yeah~!! hahaha.. 1st store we pass by and a humongous bag caught my eyes (cause its so huge and the colour is very eye-catching).. my father of cuz bargain and bought it for me.. lol!! my father's bargain skill darn good.. so good that the store keepers gonna have a big headache and the co's guy was laughing his guts out.. bought 2 other bags from some other store (1 my bro buy for his gf and another we buy for my sis-in-law).. my dad and mum also each bought a top.. my dad saw a traditional costume which was quite cheap considering its a whole set and bought my size.. all of us except my bro got ourselves something..
2nd day:
saw our tour guide for the 1st time.. =P my dad thinks that the meeting time is too late so requested for an earlier time for the next day.. nothing much for the day.. the only scenery is Tonle Sap Lake.. the ppl are just amazing.. living in houses built over the water.. they also have school and church on the lake..
3rd day:
visit to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. didn't visit everything of cause due to time and flooding.. sadly, my shoe decided that it's hungry and started opening its mouth.. worst is that i actually nid to wear covered shoe to the palace in Phnom Penh the next day.. argh.. at nite went to nite mkt agn.. to see if able to find any covered shoe as well as to get souvenirs.. i bought another bag instead.. =X
4th day:
woke up damn early in the morning to ride the coach to phnom penh.. the ride was 5hrs long.. whole body felt stiff and our bones feels like its gonna break.. went to the palace after lunch and its damn boring.. not worth going.. =X to make things worse, the stay at the hotel was lousy..
5th day:
evening flight back to Singapore, home sweet home.. since we din do much in phnom penh, we decided to visit a few local mkts in the morning.. negotiated a price with a "tut tut" to drive us to all the mkts we've find out worth going from the hotel receptionist including back to our hotel and we set off for our wonderful "visits".. me and my dad had been looking forward to trying out the taste of insects and we found it in 1 of the mkt.. initially i was abit scared of eating.. haha.. funny me.. been looking forward but still scared.. my dad ate 1st to "demonstrate" that its not frightening and it also give me time to prepare myself.. poor dad kenna "cheated", the person was telling us wat my dad ate was grasshopper when it obviously look like cockroaches to us.. just anyhow walk then we're done.. went to a fastfood store nearby to get lunch.. after lunch its preparation to go airport.. *we were forced to check out of hotel earlier.. idiotic*
